Thanks to the London Design Guide I headed to Crystal Palace and found some unexpected delights. As I’ve recently moved to ‘home owner’ status shopping for furniture has become a necessity and it doesn’t all have to be Ikea! Crystal Palace is full of quirky vintage, antique and modern furniture stores. It’s actually worth it just for browsing as I was to find many of the items were far from affordable, but good for inspiration.
Designs of Modernity – In the basement of Crystal Palace antiques on Jasper Road. This showroom looks amazing and the walls are adorned by Munich Olympic posters, very cool. The rest of the building is also great and covers four floors so there’s plenty to be found, like ablack Eames DSW chair for £28!
Do South – On the corner of Westow Street this quirky furniture shop looks great both outside and in. Go both for big pieces of furniture and small accessories such as these London landscape table mats
