Things to do in South London this October

xoyo-lovesXOYO Loves – We’re big fans of the original club in Old Street so were delighted when they decided to bring their brand south of the river, with gigs throughout the Autumn at both Corsica Studios and Electric Brixton. Line ups include Groove Armarda and Dimitri from Paris, guaranteed to keep you dancing into the wee hours.

Booka Shade, Electric Brixton – German dance duo are performing a full live set at Electric Brixton on October 24th. Early bird tickets are on sale for £20 including fees.

John Cooper Clarke – Fan of the Arctic Monkeys “I wanna be yours”? Well it was written by ‘punk poet’ Clarke back in the eighties.  His performing his blend of socio-political verse at the Southbank Centre on October 4th.

Battersea Spanish Film Club – With one of our writers a new student at this Battersea language school, we thought it only right to show support and head to their monthly Spanish film club. If you fancy a bit of culture on a Tuesday night head to the Doodle bar on the 7th for a free viewing of Pedro Almodóvar’s ‘The Skin I live In’.

Studio 338 Forest Sessions – Head to new Greenwich venue Studio 338 this October for a month of urban forest parties courtesy of Kopparberg cider. Boasting one of Europe’s largest terraces which is heated and covered on the colder nights expect plenty of decor in the form of trees, ivy, vines and even living walls.

Tootopia – ‘Up and coming’ may be the most overused phrased used in conjuction with Tooting, but is perhaps appropriate. Evidence of this comes with the return of Tooting’s annual three-day food, drink and live entertainment festival celebrating all things SE17.  Various local venues including The Antelope, The Castle, Gorringe Park, Graveney & Meadow, Imperial Durbar and The Little Bar will be putting on special events, check the website for full details.
