Day 11 – #20Days20Dinners
I’ve made it past the half way point, hurrah! It’s been an interesting ten days so far and I think I have managed to achieve my aim of bringing a diverse mix of both locations and cuisines to you, my lovely readers. To start me off on the second half of my 20 day challenge I have chosen a restaurant I like just as much for the view as I do for the food. It’s Dim T in London Bridge, perfectly located for a view of Tower Bridge, which when lit up against a dark nights sky has to be one of my favourite views in London. If you book in advance ask for a window table so that you can make the most of this stunning location.
The Food –
Dim T offers a range of Asian food ranging from Dim Sum, as its name would suggest, to noodle soups and fried rice. I looooove steamed Dim Sum so I started with a portion (3 pieces, £3.85) of the Chicken, cashew and coriander ones. Joining me for day 11 was one of my besties who’s recently moved to London, she’s a veggie and there was plenty on the menu available for any non-meat eaters. Her grilled vegetable gyozas looked fab and these were followed by the Japanese fried rice with tofu which looked both tasty and healthy and was served in a gorgeous bowl! I went for the Tom Yum noodle soup with prawns, the broth had a good kick to it.
The Verdict –
There’s nothing ground breaking here but if you want some nice Asian food with a stunning view it’s a fail safe option. What’s more it’s pretty reasonable, although lots of the offers Dim T run are not available at convenient times at this branch you can still enjoy a two course meal for less than £15. In fact having had just tap water (you didn’t think I’d be drinking for 20 days did you?!) my meal only came to £13, a bargain! It’s next door to Gaucho and I can guarantee you’d be paying a lot more to eat there!
