This excellent pizzeria serves sourdough pizza, with a small menu plus changing specials. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven, and are some of the best I’ve had in London. What makes this place even more appealing is the value for money, with a simple pizza from just £4.50. Having its roots in the ever popular Brixton Village, inevitable expansion has been quick and well deserved.
The small menu at Franco Manca has allowed for a real focus on the quality of ingredients that are used. They produce their own gos ham as well as producing their own Mozzarella daily, with other cheeses coming from Neals Yard. Tomatoes used are organic and locally sourced. Similarly the wine is sourced from organic vineyards.
The SLB would recommend Franco Manca for a simple but delicious quick and casual dinner, or lunch. During peak times expect to queue, although due to quick turnaround it’s never as bad as it looks. South London branches are currently in Balham, Brixton, Northcote Road, Southfields and most recently, East Dulwich.
