Where:1 Broadway, Bexleyheath, DA6 7JZ
Why Go: Girls day out – afternoon tea, spa facilities and treatments available.
Anything Else: Very friendly & helpful staff
I was very kindly invited along to the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath in order to try their lunch menu and make use of the spa facilities, how could I resist.
After parking in the adjoining multi storey – which is free if you’re using the spa, we headed first to the gym, always good to feel you’ve earned lunch I think. The compact gym provides all the equipment needed for a decent workout, with mat space, weights and balls on offer as well as the usual cardio equipment.
Post workout and armed with fluffy robes and snug branded slippers we headed to the spa area and enjoyed a relax in the sauna. There’s also a steam room and pool with plenty of loungers around to relax and read a book on.
If you really want to treat yourself then I highly recommend the massages on offer, which use Morrocon Oil – a product I was familiar with for use in hair but they also now have a range of body oils that are great for moisturising. So after working up an appetite in the gym we headed up to the Copper restaurant, which was rather empty for the lunch sitting but filled up with people coming for afternoon tea. The lunch menu is small but actually very good with some interesting dishes. Notably the Tomato Salad with Burrata, and Chilled Tomato Consommé which was poured on arrival. The British Kale Salad with Wheat Berries,Pumpkin,Sunflower Seeds, Broccoli Seared Tuna was also great being both healthy and filling.
We left feeling relaxed, satisfied and ready to enjoy the rest of the weekend.
