Our guest blogger, Nancy Williams, went to Brixton for the opening of a new Thai restaurant – here’s her review:
“Rosa’s Thai Café, a small collection of restaurants across London, has just opened a new branch on Atlantic Road in Brixton. Rosa’s offers classic Thai dishes but focuses on sourcing ingredients locally. The menu is exciting and has something for everyone, including roast duck curry, butternut red curry and spicy fish with mixed herbs, as well as a good range of starters and side dishes.
We went along to the new branch for some drinks and canapés inspired by dishes from the main menu. These included Thai calamari and prawns in a delicious sweet chilli sauce, as well as fragrantly spiced home-made Thai sausage. There were also refreshing soft rice paper rolls, filled with fresh vegetables and peanut sauce.
My personal favourite was a taste of the salmon red curry- one of the dishes that is recommended on the menu- the curry sauce was beautifully spicy without being ferociously hot and did not overwhelm the flavour of the salmon.
The café has a warm and relaxed feel and would be a great place to grab a quick lunch or equally have a more substantial dinner. I’m keen to go back to Rosa’s and try some of the dishes in their complete form and think it will be a great new edition to the ever-growing Brixton food scene.”
