Amongst the popular gourmet burger scene in London, Hache is fast becoming top of my list and branches are opening across the capital. After seeing good reviews on Instagram I decided it was the perfect place to take my dad, and as a burger lover he too was impressed by what they had to offer. Hache restaurants provide an intimate yet trendy and social atmosphere.
Having had a busy day of moving flat we were in need of good fodder, so a burger restaurant was the ideal destination. Drawn in by the tasty starters we chose to share the hot n’ spicy chicken wings – a classic served with delicious dips. Drinks were also in need, so our thirst was quenched by a couple of Coronas and Prosecco.
With a vast menu of exotic burger combinations influenced by different cuisines, it was hard to choose just one. I had the Mexican steak burger accompanied with guacamole, sour cream, salsa, jalapenos and I fancied sweet potato fries. For those just seeking a great classic, my dad went for the cheese burger and chips.
Preferring rarer meat, I asked for my burger medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. There is also a choice of buns or for the calorie conscious you can substitute the bread for salad. Those looking for a vegetarian option will also not be short of choice with the goat’s cheese burger already on my mind for next time.
To finish we couldn’t resist the homemade warm chocolate brownie with ice cream to accompany our coffee. A perfect end to a meal that had the whole package – tasty, well-presented food, fantastic service and warm atmosphere. Unlike typical chain restaurants which often lack charm, Hache offers an intimate, friendly retreat alongside a menu of reasonably priced, gourmet food.
