Ping Pong – Dim Sum

Ping Pong have been serving quality Dim Sum, Cocktails and Chinese Teas in London since 2005.  Now with 8 London restaurants they’re a go to venue for a good value meal in nice surroundings.  Whether you’re after a quick lunch, or a social sharing dinner, Ping Pong has got it covered.  They’ve also recently introduced Bao Burgers as part of their summer menu, chose from Chargrilled Vegetable, Chilli Prawn or Smoked Duck.

Recently I went along to the Southbank branch, and as a fan of dim sum found it a great option in a fantastic location.  Right next to the Royal Festival Hall and nearby to Waterloo station it is a great jumping off point for exploring the Southbank whether you’re heading to a show at the Udderbelly or simply fancy a walk by the river.

If you’re indecisive then the set menus offer an easy way out with excellent value, starting at £12.50 for plenty of food and the opportunity to try a variety of dishes both fried and steamed, as well as a rice dish.

For the more adventurous there’s a large menu to tackle with soups and salads as well as fried, griddled, steamed and baked dim sum.  You make your selection by marking your choices on the paper menu provided.

My favourite are the steamed dumplings and although I’m not a vegetarian I found I preferred the tofu and vegetable dumplings and the edamame and truffle dumplings, the flavours and textures worked really well.  Another highlight was the honey-soy chicken wings from the specials section.
