5 More Great Places in Streatham Hill
Back in 2013 we compiled a list of our top 5 places in Streatham Hill. A lot’s changed since then, with many new places opening, adding to the growing community in the area. Whilst we still recommend you to check out our previous round up of places worth visiting in Streatham Hill we also wanted to provide some further insight based on these new openings. Especially focusing on those that we have loved!
1.Brooks & Gao – A small café which is open throughout the day serving a range of hot drinks as well as sandwiches, delicious cakes and a small range of hot food. This has been expertly renovated with miniscule attention to detail, from the stumpy tea pots to the vintage tea spoons this place looks great. Bare brick walls and filament bulbs are added to with just the right choice and level of background music. You’ll become a regular after your first visit.

2.Boyce Da Roca – Recent winner of Time Out’s Love Local awards for the best café/coffee shop in Streatham, and we’d have to agree. It’s definitely our top spot for breakfast in the area. With quality ingredients, including delicious sourdough bread, home-made baked beans and organic sausages, plus quirky décor, it’s the perfect spot for brunch whether you go for the full English, or my new favourite, the smashed avocado with poached eggs. Due to its popularity, service can be slow during peak times, so order yourself a bowl sized coffee (yes really) while you wait for your food.
Leigham Hall Parade, Streatham High Rd, London SW16 1DR
3.Ilili – One of the best Lebanese in south London, according to the hungry tasters here at the SLB. The bright yellow exterior and large sash window welcome you into this airy restaurant on Streatham Hill. Good value for money with a wide range of hot and cold small plates as well as larger plates of grilled meat served with chips or rice. PLEASE NOTE – ILLILI CLOSED DOWN

4.Brighton Way – This café, bar and restaurant takes over the premises of the former Mint bar. It’s undergone a smart re-design and is now home to signature bare brick walls, leather sofas and industrial lighting, ticking all the boxes in the style stakes. There’s an impressive cocktail list and the food is good. It’s one of the bigger restaurants on the high road so perfect for group bookings.
5 Streatham High Road, SW16 1EF
5.Addomme – A lovely family run traditional Italian Trattoria which is just a stone’s throw from Streatham Hill station. The starter of fried aubergine and courgette is moreish and the pizzas are top notch. Well worth a visit and remember to book ahead as it’s small and very popular. Read our full review here.
