Waterloo London Eye

To my delight I was invited to stay in one of city marques centrally located apartments as part of #100 nights100bloggers. Now naturally I chose to stay in one of their apartments situated south of the river, Waterloo to be precise, but they have many in other central locations too such as Oxford Street.

Staying in central London was a rare treat, usually reserved just for tourists, as a resident of zone three I’m not going to pretend I’m hard done by, people do much worse commutes, but there was something exciting about strolling along the south bank and being able to walk back to my home for the night.

The apartments are billed as an alternative to staying in a hotel and I could definitely see the advantages on my stay. There was ample space with sofas, tv, a dining table complete with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. What’s even more appealing is the presence of a kitchen which is stocked with essentials such as salt, pepper, oil and milk. OK for one night cooking may not have been on the agenda, but perhaps for those staying in London a little longer, the work traveller bored of eating out solo, or the budget conscious traveller, this is a perfect solution. If you compare the value to what you would pay for a hotel on the same street for a similar price (£170+ per night approx) you can sleep up to five rather than just two with all the mentioned extras.

The day before the stay was spent exploring borough market, dinner came from thai silk, a great local eat in or takeaway and then to really make the most of the stay I breakfasted at nearby Jo’s cafe…highly recommended.
