Last chance to enjoy a winning combination of Yoga and awesome views of London
The clever brains over at Lucyoga have been making the most of the summer and using the enviable space at Franks Bar Peckham outside of bar hours. If you haven’t been to Franks before, first of all, why?! and secondly, you should! Its location on the top of a multi story car park is not only quirky, but also genius owing to its vistas across London, taking in the Shard et al.
I was lucky enough to enjoy a Saturday morning practise up on the roof, taught by Lucy herself, in the Dru Yoga style. This was not a style I’d come across before, I’m more of a vinyasa flow girl myself, but this gentler form of yoga was a lovely start to the day and I definitely came away feeling stretched and relaxed. There were modifications for most of the moves, so no need to worry if you’re not gifted with flexibility!
On the day of my practise it was a misty morning, but the magic of the rooftop location still enchanted me and I wish I’d gone earlier in the summer.
It’s now the last week of Rooftop Yoga Peckham, with classes running up until Monday 22nd, so if you want to share the experience get booking! But fear not, Lucyoga doesn’t only teach on rooftops so if Dru Yoga takes your fancy you can enjoy it all year round.
You may also want to check out Victor’s Lab, if Peckham’s your stomping ground, a Yoga and Pilates studio in the Bussey Building with weekly classes including ‘Voga’, yes you did hear correctly…
