London is brimming with music festivals and the number of them seems to be growing year on year, meaning really is there any need to leave London? You can enjoy topline-ups with the comfort of your bed come the end of the evening. Unfortunately weather is still unpredictable, so if it’s sun your after you may well have to head further afield. And it’s not all about Victoria park, South London has its fair share of festivals with Clapham Common providing the perfect festival location. Now there’s a new contender looking to get in on the act and they’re bringing not only two music filled days this September but adding food to the bill as well.
Let me introduce you to On Blackheath, the new food and music festival coming to Blackheath Common on September 13th & 14th. Massive Attack will be headlining on the Saturday in their only London festival show of the year and on Sunday it will be Frank Turners turn to take to the stage. There’ll also be a world music stage curated my 6 music’s Gilles Peterson.
Leading the food side of the festival will be Gizzi Erskine with a host of other chefs including Michelin starred Simon Hulstone (The Elephant) & Richard Bainbridge (Morston Hall).
Tickets are at the high end at £57.50 for one day or £99 for the weekend and are on sale now.
