The Imperial Durbar on Trinity Road opened earlier this summer and is a coffee house by day and restaurant/bar by night, although I’m sure there is some flexibility around which beverages get consumed when.
It’s USP is the vast range of gins on offer, with an equally impressive array of tonics and mixers. The menu of curry’s looked nice too but we were there to sample the drinks.
Everyone ordered something different and took the advice of the waitress on what were the best combinations. The various G&T’s arrived in impressively large ‘fish bowl’ glasses. The capirinhas were delicious and a fair few got consumed over the course of the evening.
It looks really cool! A lot of thought has obviously gone into the look and feel, everything from the loos to the menu designs were nicely done. It’s as if an English man from the 1940’s went travelling around India and shipped all the things he loved about the country to Tooting. As a bonus on a nice evening, there are a few table outside at the back.
All in all, certainly worth a visit!
